Type3arabi, Yamli, Microsoft Maren and Google Input Tools
All four let you type Arabic in Latin letters and pick the Arabic word from a list. The difference is where they work. Yamli and Google Input Tools work in the browser. Microsoft Maren worked in every Windows app, but only up to Windows 7. Type3arabi works in every app on Windows 10 and 11.

What else Type3arabi does
- Reads your dialect: Levantine, Egyptian, Gulf, Iraqi, Maghrebi or Modern Standard Arabic, without you choosing one.
- Diacritics: adds the shadda in اللّه and the tanween in شكراً by itself, and Tab opens an editor for any mark on any letter.
- Types plain Latin letters by itself in a browser’s address bar and in password fields.
- Learns the words you pick, on your PC only, and lets you export them to another PC.
- Lists every dataset its model was trained on, with its license, in DATASETS.md.
ما يقدّمه «اكتب عربي» أيضاً
- يتعرّف على لهجتك: شامي أو مصري أو خليجي أو عراقي أو مغاربي أو فصحى، بدون أن تختارها.
- التشكيل: يضيف الشدّة في «اللّه» والتنوين في «شكراً» تلقائياً، وTab يفتح محرّراً لوضع أي حركة على أي حرف.
- يكتب بالحروف الإنجليزية من تلقاء نفسه في شريط العنوان في المتصفح وفي حقول كلمات المرور.
- يتعلّم الكلمات التي تختارها، على جهازك فقط، ويتيح لك نقلها إلى جهاز آخر.
- يذكر كل البيانات التي تدرّب عليها نموذجه مع تراخيصها في ملف DATASETS.md.
What Type3arabi doesn’t do (yet)
- It runs on Windows only: no Mac, Linux or phone version. PCs with an ARM processor are not supported yet.
- The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows a warning when you run it (why).
- It doesn’t translate English into Arabic. It turns Arabic written in Latin letters into Arabic letters.
ما لا يفعله «اكتب عربي» (حتى الآن)
- يعمل على ويندوز فقط: لا نسخة لماك أو لينكس أو للموبايل. والأجهزة التي تعمل بمعالج ARM غير مدعومة بعد.
- ملف التثبيت غير موقَّع رقمياً بعد، لذلك يظهر تحذير من ويندوز عند تشغيله (السبب).
- لا يترجم من الإنجليزي إلى العربي، بل يحوّل الكلام العربي المكتوب بحروف إنجليزية إلى حروف عربية.
